    Olympics

I've always been a fan of the Olympics (winter more than summer, but I like them both) and have been following the progress of the stadiums and such. I ran across this article lately that made me chuckle.

Chinese men walk past a signboard at a pay parking lot in Beijing, where "fee" is mistakenly spelled as "pee". The Chinese capital has began a campaign to improve its signposting in English ahead of the 2008 Olympic Games. Among signs in need of correcting were ones for "Pubic Toilets," and "Deformed Men" -- the latter indicating facilities for the handicapped.

    New photos

Finally updated the website with photos from August through December...enjoy!

The whole truth, so help me Me...

Chris (my 9-year old) was under the weather this weekend. We wanted to watch a movie, so we logged onto Netflix to see if we could find something online for him to watch. Their selection of kids movies was pretty lame, and we eventually decided on the 70's classic "Oh God" (John Denver, George Burns). Based on my memory, it seemed like something Chris would like.

Well, in one the opening scenes, Jerry (Denver) and his wife (Teri Garr) go to bed and get into a discussion about the last time they made love. I didn't remember that scene! It didn't seem to phase Chris, but I watched the rest of the movie a little anxiously wondering what other things I forgot.

This is not the first time I've watched movies with the kids that I saw as a kid and had conveniently forgotten certain scenes. "The Goonies" and "The Bad News Bears" both come to mind.

    Santa comes to West Chester

The kids got a final opportunity to plead their case to Santa as he and his elves came around the neighborhood in a firetruck today. Naughty or nice? We'll find out in 9 days. (I'm guessing nice.)

    See Pat Blog

Dianne recently posted a link to the Blog Readability test--a tool that is supposed to analyze a blog/website for its reading level. Dianne's blog rated at the college undergrad level, while Earl's rated at the high school level. I decided to try it out on mine and see what I got. Here's what it came up with...

    cash advance

Nice. Guess I need to start using bigger words.
Antidisestablishmentarianism is unAmerican--there, that should help.
