Mercy Heart Mini Marathon

Movies

I took the boys to Trei's birthday party at the Rave movie theater today. We saw Bridge to Terabithia, which I remember reading as a kid but I couldn't remember the details very well. It was a good movie, although pretty sad.

While at the movie theater, I also saw a movie poster for the upcoming Sandra Bullock movie Premonition. I don't know that I'll see the movie, but it's one of the cooler movie posters I have seen in a while.

Humor on the highway

Due to the bad weather, I decided to go into work late today to avoid traffic (it took me 4 1/2 hours to get home one day last week--I wasn't about to go through that again). I was headed south down I-71 in the left lane and noticed a spray of snow ahead of me. A snow plow was headed northbound and was spraying the contents of the left lane and emergency lane (mostly snow, but also pieces of tires and garbage) across the median into the left lane of I-71 south. I got over just in time to avoid the spray.

A few minutes later, I passed another plow heading southbound spraying the contents back into the northbound lanes. Pretty amusing--our tax dollars at work!
