Songs in Haiku

There has been lots going on this summer, but I just haven't been inspired to post on the blog. A few days ago, however, Earl and Dianne invited me to join them on their Songs in Haiku blog. Each entry is an attempt to take the lyrics of a song and narrow them down into a haiku (5-7-5) poem. With my love of music and language arts teaching background, I was immediately hooked. I don't claim any creative writing ability, but it's a lot of fun. My favorites so far are Dianne's take on my least favorite song of all time and Earl's version of "One Tin Soldier"--a song I love but haven't thought about in years! Anyway, if you are a music fan you should check it out.
